Letter of Recommendation Service

For applicants to all types of programs-

  1. A resume listing all educational, work, and personal experiences relevant to your proposed graduate study, including the content (work duties, accomplishments, main university subjects studied, etc.) and dates. Please be careful to provide details of each experience.
  2. A list of your schools and deadlines.

Please provide #3, #4 and (in the case of MBA applicants) #5 below separately for each recommender.

  1. The name and title of your recommender and a description of your relationship with him or her.
  2. Most important -- In as much detail as possible, please describe your positive qualities (intelligence, leadership, etc.) and accomplishments (an excellent essay for a seminar, a successful project at work, etc.) in that relationship. For each positive quality and accomplishment, please include some concrete details, a specific example or an episode that demonstrates these qualities. To write a strong letter, it is very important that we have enough positive qualities/accomplishments (at least 5-6 is ideal) to write about, with details and examples.

MBA Applicants-
For recommendations to MBA programs, the following is also required:
  1. A list of one or two weak points with an example for each and any efforts you have made to improve in these areas. This is an important part of a strong MBA letter of recommendation.
  2. If the accomplishments you listed in #4 do not already include one leadership experience, please describe one as specifically as possible.
  3. A list of the long answer questions (questions like "Applicant's strong points?" but not questions like "name", "address", etc.)  on the recommendation form for the school that you would like us to write a recommendation for.
